  • Minimum age: you must be at least 27 years old to rent 600-900 cc models, and at least 30 years old to rent larger than 900 cc models.
  • Full riding license: you must have held a full riding license* for at least 2 years at the time of rental. (* equivalent to what is known in Europe as “class A”)
  • International Driver’s Permit, showing class A, for for holder of non-European licenses.
  • You must have recent experience: at least 5,000 kilometers (3,000 miles) ridden within the last 3 years. (please read paragraph 11).
  • 1 VISA or Mastercard credit card for damage deposit: you will need to provide one payment card to rent a motorcycle. There will be an authorization of your card at the time of rental. See the required amount by viewing the page of the motorcycle model that interests you.
  • Damage excess: you are covered for damage, up to the amount designated as “excess”. If repairs are required, you will need to pay no more than the excess fee. Excess is dependent on model, so please view the page of the model that interests you. Exceptions apply (where coverage is void).
  • Theft excess: you are covered for theft up to the amount designated as “excess”. If motorcycle is stolen, you will need to pay no more than the excess fee. Excess is dependent on model, so please view the page of the model that interests you. Exceptions apply (where theft coverage is void).

The above terms do not form the complete rental agreement. They are just a quick view summary of the most often asked subjects.

Your use of the rented motorcycle and your responsibilities as a renter and rider, are detailed in the Motorcycle Rental Agreement, which is the document that you are required to sign before you ride.

MotoGreece reserve the right to modify the current Terms & Conditions of the Rental Procedure at any time without prior notice.

Please carefully read and agree to the following terms and conditions before you rent one of our motorcycles.

1. Rental Operator and the Contract.

All motorcycle rentals are operated by MotoGreece Private Company, Astidamantos 85, 11634, Athens, Greece. (“MotoGreece”, “Company”, “us”, “we”).

The Participants(s) is/are the person(s) listed on the MotoGreece booking form or the person(s) requesting a rental (“Participant(s)”, “You”).

2. Changes of Rental  Verbal Changes.

Variation of the terms of this rental procedure is only valid if done so in writing and confirmed by both the Participant(s) and an authorised representative of MotoGreece.

3. Booking

3.1. By completing a rental booking, by using the on-line booking form or by sending an email, or by signing and posting/ faxing a booking request, you agree and accept these Terms and Conditions as a binding contract between MotoGreece and You.

3.2. Once your request is received by MotoGreece, we will send You a written reply (via post, fax or email) of availability that includes the services in detail and the amount to be paid.

3.3. You have to make the deposit payment as described in the previous communication (3.2). Once we verify with our bank that the deposit payment has been received, we will send you a written reservation confirmation by email or post/fax of your booking and a contract (“Rental Agreement”/ “Agreement”) is then made between MotoGreece and the Participant(s).

3.4. The final prerequisite for the Participant(s) is the signed Rental Agreement (see chapter B further below) for the use of motorcycles provided by MotoGreece. The rental agreement also contains a liability release waiver and is signed prior we deliver to you the motorcycle.

3.5. MotoGreece reserves the right to decline any booking at their discretion.

4. Reservation Deposit & Payments

4.1. Payments may be made by one of the following ways:

  • Paypal
  • Electronic bank transfer. For electronic transfer, we will notify the Participant(s) of our bank details separately.
  • Card. Our online card payments are handled either by our bank’s e-commerce platform or by PayPal.
  • Cash at the company’s premises.

4.2. The deposit required to secure your booking is equal to 30% of the rental value.

4.3. MotoGreece has absolutely no obligation to hold the requested motorcycle(s) until the deposit is confirmed. You should not consider that you have reserved a motorcycle unless we send you a written confirmation of your reservation.

4.4. The remaining balance of the rental is due and payable with the Participant(s) arrival, during the motorcycle hand-over.

5. Pricing

5.1. Rental rates quoted by MotoGreece on this website or printed materials, are those in effect at time of writing. MotoGreece shall communicate any rental rate increase to Participants at least 20 days prior to the rental.

5.2. Only the items specifically listed in the “What’s Included” on our website and in our brochures are included in the price. Therefore, for clarity, the following items are not part of the price and are an additional cost to the Participant(s), and do not form part of the contract:

  • Personal travel, accident and medical insurance,
  • Personal documentation (e.g. passport, visas if required), fuel, fines, tolls
  • Additional transportation of you or for the motorcycle en route where the Participant or the motorcycle cannot continue beyond the short and temporary assistance offered by MotoGreece.
  • Any other item not specifically included in the price.

6. Travel Insurance

6.1. MotoGreece does not offer travel insurance of any kind. MotoGreece recommends that you take out adequate travel insurance, including cover for medical treatment, accidents and repatriation, holiday cancellation and curtailment.

6.2. If you choose to travel without adequate insurance cover, MotoGreece will not be liable for any losses howsoever arising.

7. Cancellation by Participant

7.1. Cancellations related to COVID 19

  • 7.1.1.: If you are forced to cancel because of : travel bans, lock downs etc related to COVID19, that are officially imposed by governments and/or authorities, we will refund your reservation deposit in full. All that we ask is that you notify us at least 48 hours prior to your intended arrival date.
  • 7.1.2. You accept and acknowledge that the refund may be delayed for a few days up to several weeks. This is necessary in order to maintain a sustainable cash flow for our business.
  • 7.1.3. If you cancel less than 48 hours before your intended arrival, the refund of your deposit may be delayed for up to 1 month.
  • 7.1.4. Without providing proof that you are forced to cancel because of official COVID19 related restrictions (issued by governments or authorities), MotoGreece reserves the right not to issue a refund. In such case, it is in our discretion to offer you the option of a Future Rental Credit.
  • 7.1.5. A Future Rental Credit can be used for a future rental for up to 2 years from the time of cancellation. This Future Rental Credit is non-refundable but you may transfer it to another person. It may be applied to any new or existing booking. The new future booking will be accepted by MotoGreece in the basis of motorcycle availability.
  • 7.1.6. If your airline cancels your flights, but without an official (by government or state authority) travel restriction in place, MotoGreece reserves the right not to issue a refund. In such case, it is in our discretion to offer you the option of a Future Rental Credit
  • 7.1.7. It is your responsibility to get informed about requirements pertaining to your return back to your country, and how these could affect your travel plans while there are no nation wide entry restrictions. For example : If there is a requirement from your government, that in order for you to board a flight back home, you should provide a negative Covid19 test that must be done in Greece before your departure from Greece, then you should book your rental/tour ending dates accordingly. Motogreece will not refund reservation deposits nor grant future credit vouchers if you decide to cancel your booking because you might have neglected to get informed about such guidelines or requirements and consequently you failed to plan ahead your rental ending dates accordingly.
  • 7.1.8. Vaccines and related issues: if vaccines are set as an official prerequisite in order to be allowed to travel, then failure to get a vaccine in time before the travel does not constitute a valid reason to claim a refund. Therefore, the standard cancellation fees will apply as set below.
  • 7.1.9. Cancellations received that are not related to official COVID19 restrictions are handled as per our regular Cancellation Policy, listed below.

7.2 Cancellation by Participant for reasons not related to official COVID19 restrictions (official = issued by governments and authorities)

7.2.1. Should the Participant(s) have to cancel the rental reservation we must receive notice in writing (email or fax)

7.2.2. If the Participant(s) cancels the reservation between 90 days and 45 days prior to rental, MotoGreece retains 30% of the reservation deposit plus 12 euros per refunding transaction, as cancellation fees.

7.2.3. If the Participant(s) cancels the reservation between 44 days and 30 days prior to rental, MotoGreece retains 50% of the reservation deposit plus 12 euros per refunding transaction, as cancellation fees.

7.2.4 If the Participant(s) cancels the agreement less than 29 days prior to rental, MotoGreece retains 100% of the deposit already paid. and no refund is made. No exception to this policy can be made.

7.2.5. Requests by the Participant(s) to change the booking dates, or motorcycles, or duration of rental period already booked, are considered and handled as a cancellation and the cancellation fees of clauses 7.2.2, 7.2.3, and 7.2.4 apply. The Participant(s) must re-initiate the reservation procedure.

7.2.6. There shall be no pro rata refunds should the bike be returned early before the end of the hire period irrespective of the circumstances that facilitated an early return.

7.2.7. There shall be no refunds in case the Participant(s) do not show at the agreed rental period start.

7.2.8. We strongly recommend that you obtain trip cancellation insurance from an insurance company

8. Cancellations by MotoGreece

8.1. We reserve the right to cancel any reservation due to unforeseen-able conditions. Should that occur, the Participant(s) options are:

  • transfer to an alternative rental period to your satisfaction
  • transfer to an alternative motorcycle model, which may include additional payment or partial refund
  • a full refund of monies paid.

8.2. If a rental reservation is cancelled by MotoGreece, the Company will not be liable for additional costs or losses incurred by Participant(s) due to the cancellation of the rental. This includes, but is not limited to, the cost of prepaid airline tickets, hotel reservations.

8.3. MotoGreece is not liable to make refunds once rental commences regardless of the reason for Participant(s) being unable to complete the rental period.

8.4. MotoGreece cannot be made liable for unpleasant or unsuitable weather conditions and no refunds are made for such conditions.

9. Damage Deposit

9.1. A security bond (“damage deposit”) is required at time of rental collection. The Participant(s) must ensure that the required amount will be available in their credit for the duration of the rental period.

9.2 For rentals of duration up to 14 days, the damage deposit is held by authorizing a valid credit card into the MotoGreece account. Authorizing a card means that the required amount is not charged but it remains reserved from your credit.

For rentals of duration more than 15 days, we cannot authorize a card so we need to charge the required amount.

9.3. Only VISA and MASTERCARD credit cards can be used for the authorization. Debit cards maybe rejected. If you want to use debit card for the deposit, please consult with your bank before making the trip. It is your bank’s regulations that will show if your debit card can be used for “authorization” purposes.”Pre-paid” cards are not accepted for authorization.

9.4. The authorization will be fully released (or refunded in case of 15+ days rental), upon the successful inspection of the undamaged motorcycle when it is returned.

If the motorcycle cannot be thoroughly inspected at the time or place of its return, MotoGreece reserve the right to further withhold the damage deposit until the inspection of the motorcycle is completed and deemed successful.

If the motorcycle is returned after sunset, the inspection must be carried out during the next day.

If the motorcycle is returned dirty enough so that it is deemed to require a cleaning process, no deposit will be released until the motorcycle is thoroughly washed and cleaned so that it can be properly inspected. It is understood that washing and cleaning cannot take place at the time of the delivery.

9.5. The completion of the release of authorization or of the refund, is a procedure carried out by the bank, and the duration of this procedure is in no way controlled by MotoGreece.

9.6. The amount of the required damage deposit varies per motorcycle model. Please review on our website the related information for the particular model that you want to rent, by browsing that model’s webpage.

9.7. In the event that You fail to present a valid credit card or if there is lack of sufficient funds available on the credit card, MotoGreece reserve the right to refuse to provide the motorcycle. In these instances, no funds paid will be reimbursed.

10. Motorcycles Availability

10.1. MotoGreece will attempt to provide You with the model of motorcycle initially confirmed. If after having confirmed the model of motorcycle requested, MotoGreece finds that it is necessary to substitute a different model, we will notify you.

If You do not wish to accept the proposed substitution,  you may cancel the rental without penalty and the deposit will be refunded.

10.2. Unexpected and uncontrollable situations may require last minute substitution of a motorcycle including after the rental period has begun.

This may include, but is not limited to, mechanical failure, collision, damage and theft before the delivery of the motorcycle to the Participant. In this circumstance MotoGreece reserves the right to substitute the type of motorcycle confirmed.

Should MotoGreece not be able to replace a motorcycle with the confirmed type or similar, a prorated refund for the difference in models, if any, will be refunded to the Participant(s).

11. Participant(s) minimum requirements

11.1. Minimum age: You must be at least 27 years old to rent 600-900 cc models, and at least 30 years old to rent larger than 900 cc models.

11.2 Full riding license: you must have held a full riding license* for at least 2 years at the time of rental. (* equivalent to what is known in Europe as “class A = unrestricted displacement and power”)

11.3. Exception to the rule set above in 11.2, are the motorcycles with a stated power of less than 47 bhp, which can be ridden legally with a European License of A2 class. For non-european license holders, you still need to provide a full unrestricted license even for those motorcycles.

11.4. By submitting a booking/reservation you responsibly, truthfully and with respect to our hard work, state that : “You have had a recent riding experience of at least 5,000 kilometers (3,000 miles) ridden within the last 3 years”.

To our great surprise we have witnessed numerous times customers arriving to pick up bikes, without knowing where the brake levers are, or how the clutch works, or in general operate the motorcycle in a basic way! In such cases, and with a sense of responsibility in order to protect the health and safety of others on the public roads and also our property, we reserve the right to : secure the bike from you, to not allow you to continue and to terminate the rental agreement on the spot. No refunds of any moneys paid to MotoGreece can be claimed.

11.5. You must provide to MotoGreece at the time of motorcycle pick up the following documents, which must be current and valid:

  • Passport
  • Driving (Riding) license as mentioned in 11.2 above.
  • Non-EU citizens must have an International Driving Permit.
  • a valid credit card with adequate credit limit for the security deposit. The card must be issued in your name.

11.6. If you fail to provide the above mentioned documents, we will decline your rental and no refund of any moneys paid can be claimed by you.

11.7. If you fail to provide a credit card with adequate credit limit that can be used for a security deposit, we will decline your rental and no refund of any moneys paid can be claimed by you.

12. Our Responsibilities

12.1. MotoGreece is not responsible for any accidents.

It is agreed and understood that neither MotoGreece nor it’s agents are the guardians of any customer safety and that we, individually or collectively, can not be held liable in any way for any occurrence in connection with the rental which might result in injury, death or other damage to the customer, his property or his family heirs or assigns.

12.2. Motorcycle will begin the rental period with new or near new consumables and with a full fuel tank.

13. Force Majeure

In the event of Force Majeure refunds or compensation payments cannot be made, nor can MotoGreece and any of their staff be held liable.

Force Majeure means any unusual and unforeseeable circumstances beyond our normal control, which the consequences of could not have been avoided even when exercising all due care. Such circumstances or events include, but are not limited to, war, or threat of war, riot, civil unrest, industrial disputes or strikes, unavoidable technical problems with transport, closure or congestion of airports, terrorist activity, natural disasters, industrial disasters, fire, theft, flooding and adverse weather conditions.

14. Accuracy,Printing, Typing, Calculation erros and Omissions

We endeavour to ensure that all the information and prices both on our website and in our brochures are accurate, however changes and errors might occur and we reserve the right to correct prices and other details in such circumstances.

15. Complaints

Should a participant feel that MotoGreece have not met their obligations it should first be brought to the attention of a representative of MotoGreece by phone, if during a rental period, so that corrective action can be taken if possible. If however, the participant is not completely satisfied, any further comments should be put in writing, within 14 days of your return, specifying the rental period and nature of the complaint to: info@motogreece.gr .

Your complaint will be investigated, and responded to in the first instance within 14 days by email. Failure to follow the procedure set out in this clause may affect ours and the applicable supplier’s ability to investigate your complaint, and will affect your rights under this contract.

16. Jurisdiction

The contract and all matters arising from it are subject to Greek law and the jurisdiction of the Greek courts. In the event that any of the provisions of this contract will be determined by any court to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable to any extent then such provision will to that extent be severed from the remaining provisions of the contract, which will continue to be valid and enforceable.
